A breast cyst is a fluid filled sac that develops in the breast area. Breast cysts are very common, and tend to feel quite smooth and rounded to touch. Sometimes they can feel a bit tender to touch- this tenderness may change at different times during the menstrual cycle. Breast cysts are not cancerous, and usually no action is required. However, sometimes the fluid inside the cyst may be drained by a needle if the cyst is very large or uncomfortable.
