Request a new specialist referral letter

New specialist referral letters

A new specialist referral is a letter from a GP to a specialist that you have never seen before. It states the reason you need to see the specialist and any relevant medical history. In Australia, Medicare card-holders can get a rebate when seeing a specialist doctor, if they have a valid referral letter from a GP.

Our doctors provide assessment for referrals relating to common conditions including:

  • A dermatologist for acne management
  • A respiratory specialist or sleep specialist for investigation/ management of obstructive sleep apnoea
  • An ophthalmologist (eye specialist) for consideration of laser surgery
  • A plastic surgeon to discuss a cosmetic procedure
  • A urologist/surgeon for a vasectomy
  • A gynaecologist for insertion of a contraceptive coil
  • A gynaecologist for female sterilization

Need a new referral for another issue? Just book a full GP appointment for $49.99, and you can discuss your needs with a doctor. Please note for some new referrals, you may be advised you need to get investigations and/or a physical examination performed as a first step.
