Pulmicort Turbuhaler

Pulmicort Turbuhaler is a preventer inhaler used to treat asthma. It contains a steroid (Budesonide) which reduces inflammation in the lungs. It comes in three different strengths (100mcg, 200mcg and 400mcg) and is usually taken regularly, once or twice a day to maintain ongoing asthma control- the precise dose you need depends on your symptoms and the advice of your doctor. Pulmicort Turbuhaler does not help sudden attacks of breathlessness or wheezing- in this situation it is important to use a fast-acting reliever inhaler such as Ventolin, and to seek immediate medical attention if your symptoms do not improve. All people with asthma should make an action plan with their doctor to help manage their symptoms correctly.
