Cipla MDI is a preventer inhaler used to treat asthma (and also COPD). It contains a steroid (Fluticasone) which reduces inflammation in the lungs, and a long acting bronchodilator (Salmeterol) which helps keep the airways open. It is usually taken regularly, one or two puffs twice a day to maintain ongoing asthma control. It comes in two strengths- Cipla 125mcg/25mcg and 250mcg/25mcg – the dose you need depends on your symptoms and the advice of your doctor. Cipla is not recommended for treating sudden attacks of breathlessness or wheezing- in this situation it is important to use a fast-acting reliever inhaler such as Ventolin, and to seek immediate medical attention if your symptoms do not improve. All people with asthma should make an action plan with their doctor to help manage their symptoms correctly.
