Breast pain, also known as Mastalgia, refers to any area or areas of tenderness, discomfort or pain in one or both breasts. It can occur for a variety of reasons. Breast cancer does not commonly present with breast pain, but on occasion it may do so- therefore it is important to have the symptom assessed by a doctor without delay, particularly a new pain or pain that is not settling.
