Yes, a fit to work certificate may be possible in certain cases. As well as certifying time off when you’re unwell, a doctor can assess whether you’re fit to return to work and issue a “fitness for work certificate” when an employer asks for confirmation before you return.
For shorter, minor illnesses, a telehealth appointment with Qoctor may be appropriate for this purpose. Please book a full GP appointment for this, as the doctor will need time to go through your history and complete the documentation.
Important: For long-term or complex illnesses, or where there may be ongoing requirements/modifications to your usual duties, we recommend you organise your fitness to work certificate through your usual GP or specialist instead. They can provide continuity of care and manage the ongoing documentation your employer may need over time. The same advice applies if your health issue requires a physical examination (in person).
