A full GP consultation with Qoctor costs $49.99, with no extra charge out of hours or at weekends. Qoctor is a private telehealth service, so appointments are not bulk-billed or covered by a Medicare rebate. This is because Medicare rebates for telehealth generally require an existing face-to-face relationship with a GP or practice, which doesn’t apply to an on-demand online service like ours. What you gain in return is availability: an experienced AHPRA-registered doctor, 365 days a year, usually within 2 hours, with no need to be an existing patient.
Providing your Medicare details is still worthwhile, as it enables eScripts and PBS pricing on any medication, and allows referrals and pathology requests to be processed correctly. If you’re in a hurry, a priority booking service is available 9am–9pm on weekdays, letting you see a doctor within around 15 minutes.
The doctor can help with a range of needs in one appointment, including discussing symptoms, requesting a prescription, arranging a pathology or specialist referral, or issuing a medical certificate.
